CVS Health Software Development Engineer in Scottsdale, Arizona

Job Description

As a Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and deploying the email and text message services through CVS.com. You will be working with a multi-channel messaging platform, using e-mail, IVR, and text, supporting inbound messages for inbound SMS. You’ll primarily work with front-end technologies but will also work on some back end such as Java, Spring Boot, microservices and Spring batch framework.You will also:• Participate in PI feature scoping (PI), discovery and helps translates user features into application design.• Participate in iteration planning to help create solid backlog with technical input in close partnership with product team.• Contribute and participate in daily cross functional team standups, end of iteration retrospectives while encouraging team engagement with empathy.• Lead cross functional teams to define, design, and implement backend applications using latest technologies for user centered customer experience.• Work closely with Product Owners to provide project estimates based on customer experience, features, and envisioned solutions.• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.• Implement prototypes to evaluate solutions and ensure technical feasibility of designs.• Ensure architecture and designs are aligned with overall enterprise architecture guidelines.• Solve problems and proactively look for ways to improve our products platform and UI frameworks.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: 70,000

Maximum: 140,000

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications

•3+ years of experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices and Spring batch framework •3+ years of experience in developing SQL/NoSQL database schemas and ORMs that both support business processes and promote scalability•2+ years of experience in server-side templating languages, front-end technologies•1+ years of experience on deploying microservices to Google Cloud•1+ years of Google Kubernetes engine, cluster creation, Argo CD configuration experience

Preferred Qualifications

•Knowledge of NoSQL database like Cassandra and integration with microservices is a plus.•Familiarity with CI/CD -Git, Jenkins•Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes•Proficient understanding of code versioning tools•Familiar with Agile Methodologies like SAFe •Review functional requirements and implement test plans and test cases for automated/manual testing•Experience in data test cases development, test report documentation, regression testing•Utilize, expand and create new automated testing frameworks, preferably using BDD, Selenium•Identify quality issues and create test reports•Experience with common API formats (e.g. JSON, XML, Web sockets)•Design client and server-side architecture•Must be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries•Knowledge of strong encryption methodologies, and common authentication patterns•Understanding accessibility and security compliance (FIPS)•Experience in functional automation tools Experience in API testing using Postman/SoapUI or other tools•Experience in using Application Lifecycle / Test Management tools - Rally


Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience.
