CVS Health Senior Network Engineer in Scottsdale, Arizona

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the installation and maintenance of CVS’s network devices. This key technical position is accountable for maintaining baseline standards for all network gear. They will represent the engineering team on multiple projects simultaneously. The Engineer will be a level 3 escalation point for outages and participate in an on-call rotation. This position will challenge your network knowledge and sharpen your troubleshooting skills. The Senior Network Engineer will require effective communication and collaboration skills to pull in multiple teams to get the job done.

Specific Functions/Activities SUMMARY:

  • The Senior Network Engineer will operate at the enterprise level responsible for executing a wholistic strategy and tactical plan of implementation, as well as operationalizing investments which ultimately result in a resilient network architecture that is scalable to meet the growing business needs as well as lowered mean time to repair and time between incidents.

  • Represent the networking team on projects that require anything from architecture to support. You will participate in multiple projects that may have very different levels of effort. Organizational skills will be the key, to keep these projects separate and all running smoothly.

  • Once the job is architected, it will need to be purchased, built and installed. Standard Operating Procedures needed strict adherence while performing this portion of job function.

  • Collaboration with the architecture and L1/L2 support team is needed to deliver the network from paper to production. Effective communication skills are needed to build to specification and provide seamless integration of new gear.

  • Responsible for maintaining standards by updating any standards documentation that changes due to business or support needs.

  • Constantly maintain the security standards on all the networking nodes. This will require knowledge of ServiceNow for change control and business coordination for shakeout.

  • Working with the new technology requires constant upgrading your skill set. There is training in place for your knowledge maintenance and growth.

  • Participate in team meetings to bring technical findings to the group to make us all better technicians.

Additional Job duties:

  • Candidate will need to travel to the office at least three days a week. The position is hybrid, which links you to an office that you will have to travel to when needed to make changes.

  • Candidate selected will have to travel several times throughout the year to other business locations.

  • On call is required for this job on a rotating schedule.

  • Out of standard business hours work is required for this position.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of enterprise network engineering and hands on implementation experience.

  • 3+ years of experience with support monitoring and alerting using tools such as SolarWinds/NetBrain/StatSeeker/Live Action.

  • 3+ years of experience using tools such as Net Scout/Splunk.

Preferred Skills:

  • Worked at a large organization supporting complex networks with absolute fault tolerance in mind.

  • In depth knowledge of route/switch.

  • Experience with load balancing on Cisco ASA, F5 platforms.

  • Advanced network security knowledge on CheckPoint, Palo Alto and zScaler.

  • CCNA, CCNP certification.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
