Position Summary:

At CVS Health you can put your skills and interests to work by joining our UW Insights and Pricing Strategy team. An individual who joins our team will be responsible for analyzing data from a variety of areas of our PBM business and identifying opportunities that will create a meaningful financial benefit in our client offerings – from a consultant spreadsheet as well as client savings perspective. As a Pricing Strategy Analytics Advisor, you will be responsible for analyzing drug costs and client performance in one or many areas (rebates, network, and specialty), quantify providing reporting on existing strategies, and participate in the development of new strategies. You’ll be collaborating with and influencing other areas within the company to develop pricing insights, financial impact models, overseeing medium to large size projects that support various client strategy initiatives as well as ad-hoc analysis. The goal is to improve CVS Caremark client financial offerings and evaluated position in competitive bids.

  • The candidate will…

  • Quantify potential impact of various PBM pricing strategies in both Rebate and Discounts across all channels.

  • Coordinate the efforts across company teams that can include Specialty, Retail, Clinical Ops, IT, Product Development, Finance, Trade, Sales, and other corporate departments

  • Access data, construct and manipulating large datasets to support planned analyses, using SAS, Excel, SQL, and similar tools

  • Managing complex projects related to a wide variety of financial, utilization, and operational business needs.

  • Gather business insights and analysis inputs from various internal stakeholders

  • Present findings, develop and propose recommendations to leaders across multiple departments

  • Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required;

  • Degree related to finance, mathematics, operations, statistics, actuarial science, epidemiology, economics or other data related fields preferred.

  • Required Qualifications

  • 5 + years’ experience in analytics

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in PBM pricing or PBM financial analytics

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in SAS or other database software

  • Experience in Microsoft Excel-based modeling

  • Experience using business analytics to problem solve data-driven questions

  • Experience extracting, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets and then using it to draw conclusions

  • Experience conducting data analyses using basic and advanced skills in statistics and database management

  • Occasional travel may be required

  • Prior experience or knowledge of PBM industry or pharmaceuticals is preferred

  • Experience writing macros within VBA

  • Strong presentation and communication skills with experience presenting to various business groups

  • Extensive experience in a position requiring problem solving, problem analysis and creative solutions skills.

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and follow up skills.

  • Ability to interact with others in a collegial and professional manner and help foster teamwork and knowledge sharing to complete key tasks

  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and manage tight deadlines and competing priorities

  • Aptitude to communicate complex analytic findings and conclusions in an easy to understand way

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$60,300.00 - $132,600.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
