Pfizer Manager, RWE Partnerships and Innovation in San Francisco, California

ROLE SUMMARY

The RWE Partnerships and Innovation Manager will co-lead with internal and external stakeholders the design and conduct of real world data generation with focus on new launches, but also for established medicines. The role will involve collaboration with the Medical Lead/Managers & cross functional teams for planning and execution of real world evidence data generation. This role will also work with RWD/RWE contract research organizations, registries, health systems and academic institutions in advancing RWD, the development/adoption of research methodologies and advocate the generation of effectiveness RWE. He/she will contribute thought leadership internally and externally regarding Pfizer's understanding of disease epidemiology/ pharmacoepidemiology via the leverage of RWE to support benefit-risk justifications across portfolios and will develop strategies and plan for cross BU Medical Partnerships towards creating a culture of innovation and scientific decision making.

ROLE RESPONSIBILIITES

• Build RWD/RWE Research Strategy for current, new and upcoming products

• Act as internal and external expert in epidemiology methods, including observational and experimental RWD/RWE study designs and analysis, and appropriate sample size calculation methodology

• Design and implement successful observational or experimental studies

• Design and implement multiple database, de novo, or hybrid design studies intended to quantify risks potentially associated with Pfizer products

• Develops and implements strategic communication plans to educate Pfizer stakeholders of the value, opportunities, data, methods, analytics, and processes to implement alternative pathways and studies

• Publication and presentation of RWD/RWE projects at internal meetings, and external industry conference/workshops

• Develop effective relationships with external thought leaders in RWD/RWE, comparative effectiveness research, health informatics, and data sciences so as to maintain an extensive understanding of external environment, to create opportunities for engagement, and to establish Pfizer as a leader in the field

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Bachelor's degree required and 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Clinical Science, Epidemiology, Quantitative Public Health discipline, or related discipline; Master's with 3+years of experience

  • Strong preference for 3 or more years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry; extensive track record interacting with R&D and commercial organizations in pharmaceutical industry

  • Demonstrated depth of understanding of observational research methods, regulatory standards, comparative effectiveness research, health care and data science trends, and ability to leverage epidemiologic and data science expertise to meet evolving business needs

  • Evidence of technical expertise of applying RWD/RWE evidence and insights at the therapy/product level;

  • Extensive expertise in RWD/RWE to advise, on disease areas, data, technology, and risk management strategies to development projects and marketed products

  • Ability to explain strengths and limitations ofRWD/RWE datasets - such as electronic health records, claims, clinical data registries, patient generated health data, and other health data sources - in context of designing RWD/RWE data study designs

  • Interpersonal skills to seamlessly interact on both business and scientific issues along with negotiation and facilitation skills to align group decisions

  • Direct coding experience with SQL, R, and Python strongly preferred

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,900.00 to $166,500.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.   • The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $89,900.00 to $149,900.00.
