Aerotek Protein Biophysics Scientist in San Carlos, California
Our client is studying a large number of antibodies and related molecules for use in our proteomics platform. We are looking for a scientist to perform and manage the analysis and characterization of these antibodies. Antibody analysis will include a variety of techniques including ELISA assays, kinetic binding constant determination (SPRi, Biacore, ITC etc), and profiling to define binding antigens and non-binding antigens in high or moderate-throughput format.
There are also projects involving antibody engineering and chemical modification. The candidate will work with that team to optimize engineering goals, methods (phage display, rational design, computational design), screening workflows, and characterization of antibody variants.
Role and Responsibilities
Develop and execute antibody analysis (workflows, multiparameter analysis) for a number of antibodies and related molecules
Characterize binding and non-binding interaction affinities under a range of conditions relevant for our proteomics assay
Characterize the thermodynamic and kinetic constants of antigen/antibody interactions (SPR, ITC, BLI, MST)
Be an integral member of an antibody engineering team focused on developing antibodies to meet specific requirements for our proteomics assay
Work cross-functionally with other research teams to align antibody performance with proteomics assay needs
antibody, ELISA, Protein purification, Protein expression
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Qualifications and Education Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of experience characterizing, engineering, or studying multiple antibodies
Ability to manage, prioritize and analyze complex workflows for large numbers of molecules
Expertise in antibody/antigen binding analysis and characterization using one or more standard instrumental methods
Experience working in a dynamic research environment with rapidly evolving needs and specifications
Ability to build workflows for others to execute
Effectively present and report your findings internally and at scientific meetings
