Zions is currently seeking an ETL Test Engineer to review design and data flow documentation, and verify target system structure and its schema, the constraints applied in the system. Will perform data completeness and reconciliation, data quality validation and verify ETL load strategies. This position requires strong QA experience with a focus on data, knowledge of data pipelines from raw data to reporting, and demonstrable SQL expertise. The ETL Test Engineer will work closely with the offshore Data Test Lead, work with Scrum teams and Product Manager to address how to provide better quality coverage for the applications supported.

Ideally this position will be in Salt Lake City, UT but there is a possibility of working remotely. This individual will also have the following responsibilities:

• Develop and execute interface test scenarios and test scripts for complex business rules using available ETL tools

• Review interface design documents, analyze requirements and work with flat files, database dumps, XML/XSD to achieve expected results

• Perform root cause analysis, database validation, and data defect identification using SQL

• Create/Identify test data to validate functional and technical requirements

• Trace requirements to test cases to ensure coverage for full system integration test

• Coordinate the resolution of problem inhibiting test progress

• Monitor and lead testing efforts of offshore testers

• Define, execute, and track status of test cases

• Execute and analyze results of automated tests

• Detect, communicate, and track defects through the utilization of effective trend analysis

• Escalate risks and progress reporting to Scrum team and QA management

• Continuously assess and enhance overall testing effectiveness and efficiency

• Perform all other duties as requested or assigned

  Qualifications

• 4+ years of software testing experience. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.

• Hands on experience with Data Warehouse & ETL Testing

• Hands on experience of testing of Informatica jobs; Prefer experience with IBM DataStage

• Advanced SQL skills for creating complex queries to compare data between Source & Target

• Analytical approach to identify data mismatch issues

• Ability to perform source system analysis

• Understands Data Warehouse implementation, design test approach/test cases & test data creation

• Understands existing system data flow & queries

• Minimum of intermediate level automation tool experience required

• Expert knowledge of test planning, test case development, execution, and reporting

• Recent experience testing in Agile teams

• Experienced working remote and in geographically distributed teams

• Successful experience working with offshore teams

• Excellent communication and analytical skills

• Experience with XML, JSON, SOAP and REST APIs.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineer, or Information Systems preferred

  Pay Range: $90,000-$115,000
