We are looking for people with experience protecting critical infrastructure to help us defend complex cloud and on-premise environments. Our team defends Oracle’s global commercial cloud infrastructure, dedicated cloud infrastructure used by US federal and international government agencies, Oracle end users who power the company, and Oracle’s Global Business Units. Our team is skilled in threat hunting, analyzing indicators of compromise (IOCs), investigating adverse security events, security incident management, and digital forensics across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments. You will be part of a security operations team responsible for defending this infrastructure from adversaries and insider threats. This includes using tools to analyze and respond to threats, creating tools/scripts to aid in analysis, and responding in real time to adverse security events. Our team is the last line of defense if security controls are breached. We are growing fast and working on ambitious new initiatives.
We are looking for an executive security leader with broad experience in all aspects of security incident management. You will be leading a global team of incident responders that are accountable for the triage, containment, and mitigation of adverse security incidents from a variety of sources including automation, employee reporting, external agencies, and open-source reporting. You will coordinate with multiple groups including executive stakeholders, customers, and external partners. This role has direct visibility with Oracle’s most senior executives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all facets of a security response function that operates on a 24/7/365 basis
Interface with Oracle executive stakeholders, customer executives, and government agencies in all aspects of security response
Provide active command during executive security incident bridges
Measure and drive a growth in maturity across all security response functions
Ensure security incident command provides structure and drives outcomes for all security incidents
Develop and deliver security response strategy and roadmaps
Develop, test, and implement specific response plans, including APT focused response
Ensure strong operational security in all aspects of security response Lead, mentor, and provide career development across security response staff
Provide timely verbal and written executive level communications
Stay informed on security developments, including research industry trends, ongoing security threats, and new security tools
Attract, develop, and retain talent
Establish, grow, and maintain a supportive and collaborative team culture across distributed time zones
Develop hiring and strategic plans to build the team and improve the efficacy of security response
Ensure all security response compliance requirements are met across all environments including classified areas
Preferred Qualifications
BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or equivalent experience
10+ years of management experience in cybersecurity operations at a global cloud service provider
Demonstrated experience as the accountable owner for security incident response at a Fortune 500 company
Experience in responding to advanced persistent threat (APT) intrusions and/or incidents
Excellent written, verbal communications, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, external parties, law enforcement, and government agencies
Understanding of digital forensics
Experience managing various facets of Red/Blue exercises
Understanding of industry approved security incident response processes and technologies
Knowledge of security monitoring processes and technologies
Proven ability to work and collaborate in a geographically dispersed, highly matrixed organization
Experience with common regulatory frameworks and security standards
Experience leading a distributed security organization with 25+ staff
Current TS/SCI with poly is a plus but not required; our organization will sponsor a clearance if the candidate desires
Role will be required to primarily work US Pacific Standard Time hours

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)
California Pay Range: from $181,800 to $384,000 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Colorado Pay Range: from $171,700 to $345,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
New York City Pay Range: from $171,700 to $364,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Washington Pay Range: from $191,900 to $364,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
