Position Summary:

The National Accounts Account Director develops and executes strategic account management and cross sell/business development plans for complex, multi-geography National Account Customers.

Overall accountability to build and maintain strong external and internal relationships to achieve customer satisfaction in areas including serving them and their membership, managing the customer’s trend and drivers, consulting on industry trends, providing opportunities and solutions to solve their issues and being a strong student of our customer’s business.

Fundamental Components:

Overall responsibility for customer strategy and relationship management for day-to-day contacts, senior management, and key decision makers; also leads/manages the Producer Relationship for assigned customers.

Directly accountable for retention and growth of assigned book of business (persistency and renewal goals), owns the financial management of assigned book including membership and revenue goals.

Develops and executes the renewal strategy, by ensuring appropriate margins and customer/membership retention targets are achieved. Prepares client/consultant for renewal by explaining cost drivers of benefit plan and offers solutions to reduce costs, including formulating complex financial decision recommendations for customer leadership. Partners with assigned VP Client Management where applicable on strategy.

Supports New Business Sales team by participating in finalist meetings for new business.

Develops, maintains and executes strategic cross-functional annual business and account strategy plans by customer that reflects the customer’s business objectives and how Aetna solutions align with those objectives to achieve our operational, financial, network, clinical and relationship initiatives; leveraging industry trends and market dynamics and ability to tie these levers to the Customer's/Account Strategy.

Works collaboratively within Aetna and across business functions to ensure customer needs are understood and key issues are addressed.

Reviews and consultatively presents customer reporting with meaningful analytics, trending, and insightful recommendations for additional programs and services.

Required to communicate with internal and external parties via telephone and/or in person. May require travel to offsite locations for in-person meetings

Strong presentation skills are a must.

Experience:

· 5+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably in National Accounts, working with large and complex customers.

· Health & Life license.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent work expereince.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$60,400.00 - $139,240.20

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
