Your role
We are looking for an Editor / Production Designer at Val d’Or. In this role, you will report to the Senior French Services Manager in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
We are seeking a versatile, highly creative individual with solid experience in video design, filming, and digital production.
As an Editor / Production Designer, you will be responsible for filming, designing, and managing the production of digital audiovisual content, adding an original and unique value to meet the desired goals and editorial intentions. To succeed in this role, you must be proactive, able to work both in a team and under pressure, while maintaining excellent working relationships with your colleagues. You should also have extensive knowledge of the digital landscape, including its content and formats.
More specifically, your tasks will include:
Designing and establishing the technical and artistic elements for editing and visual effects of digital products to meet production needs.
Realizing desired objectives through graphic design of digital products.
Presenting the product to stakeholders at agreed-upon stages, collaborating on evaluations to identify potential improvements and guide the final product.
Contributing to all phases of planning and execution to understand and achieve the desired objectives.
Developing and creating original camera shots and visual effects through framing and camera plans.
Preparing, transporting, installing, adjusting, and operating cameras and related audio equipment to ensure successful filming; ensuring image composition and camera movements.
Consulting and advising technical and production staff on the best technical and artistic production methods to achieve desired results.
Designing and executing lighting and sound setups when necessary.
Connecting equipment to external transmission facilities as needed for live broadcasts or recordings.
Driving any vehicle required for travel or task execution, as long as the relevant driver’s license is required.
Evaluating and ensuring technical quality control throughout the production process.
Listening to, viewing, and selecting audiovisual and visual elements; adapting formats for digital publication; requesting images, and taking photos if necessary.
Writing descriptive, informative, and promotional texts tailored to the media and publishing them online.
Retrieving and transcribing content from reports and segments using specific equipment and software.
Uploading produced content to appropriate platforms.
Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
College diploma (DEC) or equivalent
Three (3) years of experience in a relevant field
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of the news production cycle in the digital age
Knowledge of production techniques
Strong experience in video filming and editing
Experience in digital graphic design
Mastery of the specifics of various platforms
Proficiency in French
Highly versatile and creative
Ability to work under pressure with a high level of autonomy
Demonstrates initiative and flexibility
Respectful towards colleagues
