About the team

The Secure Team within Pearson Qualification Services handles more than 4,000 printed items per year, producing more than 9 million question papers. As a Secure Print & Distribution Controller it will be your responsibility to ensure the manufacture and despatch of question papers and related examination materials under secure conditions and to agreed schedules. You will take end-to-end ownership of specific despatches to ensure a joined-up workflow and successful delivery.

Key activities and responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and updating the secure print database

  • Processing question papers when they are passed for press to ensure they are fit for printing

  • Raising print orders with suppliers

  • Tracking consignments to centres and assisting centres with distribution queries

  • Processing orders for on-demand tests

  • SFTing electronic versions of question papers to centres on the day of the exam

Key challenges:

  • The security of question papers and assessment materials must be maintained at all times through the adherence to set processes and procedures.

  • The quality and accuracy of question papers and instructions given to suppliers in print orders requires excellent attention to detail.

  • Working to tight deadlines and managing the end to end process to ensure question papers are despatched to centres on time and within agreed KPIs.

  • Working with fluctuating volumes.

  • The tight deadlines and fluctuating volumes require a flexible attitude towards achieving deadlines – at peak times of question paper activity, extra hours may be required to complete work.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 GCSE's or equivalent. Grade C or 4 and above.
