This is one of two positions at Metro District Human Resources that develops and implements strategies for and conducts outreach/public engagement/recruitment activities. This position will actively partner with human resources team members, outreach coordinators in other districts, managers and supervisors, district employees, and other stakeholders to build interest in and educate the community about MnDOT and strengthen our ability to attract talent and market MnDOT as an employer of choice.

Job duties include:

  • Partnering with leadership and hiring managers to understand their business needs and goals

  • Developing and maintaining connections with community organizations, diversity organizations, schools/higher education institutions, and other groups

  • Networking and researching opportunities for new partnerships

  • Identifying opportunities to promote MnDOT’s outreach and recruitment effortsat community meetings or gatherings

  • Participating in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) activities and other events in schools

  • Attending career events and interacting with attendees/visitors

  • Coordinating and directing tours of MnDOT facilities to school aged children

  • Tracking and providing updates on outreach/recruitment progress to Metro district leadership.

This position is located at Metro District headquarters in Roseville, MN. The position will regularly attend in person meetings and events, primarily in the Twin Cities metro area, but will have the option to work in office or hybrid model of work in office and telework when not attending meetings/events. If teleworking, a telework agreement will be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of professional public engagement, outreach, marketing, or recruiting experience which includes:

  • Experience developing engagement, outreach, marketing, and/or recruiting strategies or plans.

  • Experience using social networking sites for engagement, outreach, marketing, and/or recruitment activities.

A bachelor‘s or master’s degree in Marketing will substitute for one year of professional experience.

A valid Class D Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating engagement, marketing, and/or recruitment materials

  • Experience coordinating and/or attending community and/or career events

  • Experience with engagement or outreach to school age youth

  • Skill collecting, analyzing, and reporting on program/project data or measures

  • Proficiency with email, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software (e.g., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
