This position is located in Roseville. The incumbent will have the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid schedule. The incumbent will be required to report onsite at least once/month but preferred is two days a week depending on business needs. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.

This position exists to provide business support and asset management information needs to Metro District Management, Maintenance Operations Superintendents, Truck Stations staff and Engineering Services. Responsibilities include researching, planning, designing, and developing GIS solutions and assessing needs; occasional field data collection; processing, coordinating and disseminating maintenance related maps and electronic information and GIS and GPS process analysis and implementation. This position will also be responsible for managing and updating databases, project tasks, data analysis and evaluation, and preparing reports. This position uses GIS to support and develop processes to ensure efficient use of MnDOT’s resources and effectively incorporates GIS products to reach goals and objectives. This position also provides GIS and general support for the District Emergency Operations Command and Dispatch Center as needed, including generating pertinent evacuation and detour maps.

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of relevant professional work experience meeting all the following requirements listed below:

· Extensive knowledge of ESRI GIS tools including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, and Portal.

· Experience using Global Positioning System (GPS) handheld electronic devices.

· Analysis, research, and data collection skills sufficient to report on a variety of information.

· Experience utilizing computer databases sufficient to update, track, and analyze information.

· Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) to sufficiently create documents, spreadsheets, modify data and produce reports.

· Requires a valid Class D driver’s license.

Note: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, GIS, Surveying, Engineering, Planning, or Computer Science may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

· Advanced knowledge of GIS tools including Python, SQL, Arcade, or FME and creating applications.

· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Excel, Word, Power Bi, and PowerPoint, including Tables, Pivot Charts, and advanced formulas.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills, in order to communicate with groups and individuals, and lead training seminars.
