How You Will Achieve It

This position is responsible for leading a team in providing direct, timely and efficient support of Manufacturing Operations. Areas of ownership include training, learning, documentation and LEAN/Six Sigma initiatives. The team will assist a 24/7 organization with over 1,500 colleagues. The primary objectives are to provide oversight and drive initiatives to support patient's needs, maintain impeccable regulatory compliance, and develop behavioral & technical competencies for the organization within an environment of continuous improvement.

Including:

  • Building strong partnerships with enabling teams/organizations to develop and implement strong learning and continuous improvement programs in support of manufacturing, inspection and packaging of sterile injectable products

  • Building an EHS & cGMP compliance culture in alignment with PGS

  • Fostering behavioral expectations within the OWN IT cultural model and pertinent technical competencies

  • Providing support for documentation and training needs across Operations

  • Programs are in place to support safety of teams members and the operation

  • Documentation processes are aligned and in place to meet cGMP requirements

  • Colleagues are trained and proficient to meet production requirements, focusing on colleague learning and understanding of concepts

  • Accountability at all levels of the operations team

  • Programs are in place to drive understanding and continuous improvement of aseptic practices

  • Providing inputs to the preparation and attainment to annual budget and revisions to product costing.

  • Building a LEAN/Six Sigma culture and driving action to the shop floor level

  • Will troubleshoot and lead resolution of production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.

  • Requires understanding of compliance, pharmaceutical, pharmacological, biological, biochemical, medical and microbiological factors.

  • Candidate will lead Operational Excellence initiatives (i.e. Kanban, M1 investigations, GB certifications, etc.), develop OpEx skills of colleagues, and drive a culture of continuous improvement with their team utilizing IMEx principles.

  • Provide solutions to wide range of difficult/complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity, innovation, and creativity.

  • Expected to be proactive and forward thinking.

  • Solutions area imaginative, practical, thorough, and in line with organization objectives.

  • Able to adapt and respond positively to situations and people in order to meet changing work unit priorities.

  • Operates within established HR policies and basic colleagues relations guidelines.

Qualifications:

Must Have

  • Applicant must have a High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 10+ years of relevant experience;

  • OR an Associate's degree with eight years of experience;

  • OR a Bachelor's degree with at least 5+ years of experience;

  • OR a Master's degree with more than three years of experience;

  • OR a Ph.D. with 0+ years of experience.

  • Strong teamwork and technical skills required.

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams with focus on deliverables, timelines, and meeting customer expectations and requirements

  • Relevant experience managing training department within a Manufactuing/GMP/Pharma/BioPharma environment

  • Excellent communication (oral/written), facilitation and presentation skills,deliver with passion and pride.

  • Strong computer proficiency skills in MS Office, Word, Excel, Access, Project, Trackwise or equivalent

  • Strong collaboration, relationship management, and interpersonal skills

Nice to Have

  • Relevant experience in developing training programs

  • Able to assess training needs for individual and area

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Use computer terminal 6 hours per shift, respond to visual warning indicators, respond to audible warning indicators, respond to color or special visual indicators, wear PPE (safety shoes/glasses/etc).

  • Stand up to 4 to 5 hours per shift, sit for up to 5-6 hours per shift

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Must be flexible to stay over shift or come in early and cover alternating shift as business needs determine it.
