What You Will Achieve

Statistician role within the Site Technical Services group at the Rocky Mount NC manufacturing site. This individual will apply advanced manufacturing, science, and technology to support the manufacture of small and / or large volume parenteral products or process improvement, with a specific focus in statistics.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Participates on technical teams for investigation resolution, equipment or process validation activities, training on new process technologies and on significant changes to manufacturing procedures.

  • Perform trending and monitoring of critical quality attributes/critical process parameters to maintain product quality and to control process drift.

  • Support potential process improvements in conjunction with manufacturing operations.

  • Perform start-up of new data systems, data collection processes, or data analytic techniques.

  • Perform in documenting changes/updates to manufacturing processes and working with manufacturing, engineering, validation, and quality to implement those changes.

  • Execute project deliverables from a technical standpoint by assisting with sampling plans, sampling techniques, or design of experiments.

  • Responsible for executing projects/tasks assigned by Manager.

  • Execute studies and writes technical reports summarizing statistical results to support product impact assessments required for investigations into process discrepancies or out of specification test results.

  • Assure professional and quality performance in all activities, meeting times, cost, and cGMP requirements.

  • Propose process improvement opportunities and / or corrective actions to increase yield, maximize production capacity, reduce product costs, and decrease process variability while maintaining regulatory compliance.

  • Adaptive and flexible to scheduling of engineering runs

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Applicant must have High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with six years of relevant experience;

  • OR an Associate's degree with four years of experience;

  • OR a Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of experience.

Nice-to-Have

  • 1 to 3 years' experience with datasets, data analysis, and results interpretation preferred

  • Experience with data analytics software: MiniTab, R, SAS, etc. is preferred

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills is preferred

  • Background in pharmaceuticals/manufacturing

Physical / Mental requirements

  • Extended period of sitting at computer during a typical 8 hour day.

  • Occasionally, engineering runs would require extended periods of time standing and walking during an 8 hour day.

  • Occasionally, this position works around moving machines, is exposed to temperature changes, and is required to wear personal protective equipment in certain areas as part of engineering studies.

  • Occasionally, bending, stooping, squatting, carrying and/or lifting up to 25 pounds.

  • Ability to perform statistical analyses, critically think, understand processes, and apply knowledge of similar processes to solve solutions

Non-Standard work schedule, travel or environment requirements

  • On rare occasions, may have to work 2nd or 3rd shift to support training or line trials

  • May require working outside of normal schedule to support site critical projects
