SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The position of Payroll Analyst assists the payroll team by entering new hire data into various systems, performing all payroll maintenance, auditing timecards for compliance and assisting employees with questions or requests for information in accordance with established procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Work with the payroll team to ensure proper processing of new hires, rehires and employee maintenance in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations.• Review all changes for proper authorization and adherence to established policy.• Proof and edit work.• Assist with balancing and validating earnings and deduction totals.• Monitor address changes to ensure tax setup is correct when jurisdictions change.• Assist new employees with ADP portal registration and set-up.• Monitor the payroll inbox and respond to various requests for information, employee and manager questions, as needed. Escalate complex issues to HRIS Payroll Specialists or Payroll Manager as appropriate.• Ensure data integrity and accuracy within HRIS systems.• Understand how to use various IRS, State and Local publications for purposes of determining correct payroll withholding taxes for each employee.• Produce and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to better streamline and document workflow processes.

Required Skills

• High School Diploma/GED required.• Requires office experience plus knowledge of calculator and Excel. Good math/accounting aptitude.• Ability to write professional correspondence.• Ability to speak effectively with employees.• Ability to work with interruptions.
