Responsibilities

Reporting to the VP, Platform Technology Mayo Clinic Platform the Director Platform Engineering will provide technology leadership, strategy, and operational oversight over platform technology delivery for the Mayo Clinic Platform (MCP) systems, infrastructure, products and programs. Working with the VP Platform Technology, the Director will oversee all facets of Mayo Clinic Platform’s environments, product operations, and governance. This technical leader will coordinate and collaborate with internal Mayo Clinic IT (and its various offices) as well as MCP contractors and construction partners and vendors to deliver all principles of a well-architected framework for Mayo Clinic Platform.

Key Responsibilities:

· In partnership with MCP services team, develop a cohesive plan for technology deployment and support that incorporates the specific needs of each of the individual businesses.

· Design and delivery a strategy for support engineering for all aspects of Mayo Clinic Platform technology.

· Optimize technology operations for cloud infrastructure, including monitoring for compute efficiency, cost containment, and resource planning.

· In partnership with MCP Product team, drive Make vs Partner vs Buy options in upcoming technology areas that may be of interest as part of its growth strategies.

· Manage and maintain MCP’s security and compliance posture insuring that all contractual and procedural requirements are enforced in technical operations.

· Partner with Mayo Clinic IT, Mayo Clinic Cloud and Center of Digital Health to continue to leverage the growing capabilities within Mayo.

· Develop and maintain an ecosystem of partners and vendors to support overall platform advancement and acceleration.

· Drive alignment between the Platform roadmap, technology enablers and the product line needs of now and future.

· Contribute current knowledge and future vision of how technology and systems will enable business strategy, growth, and competitive positioning.

· Assess and prioritize all emerging technologies and innovations that Mayo Clinic should consider investing in so that it can remain ahead of its competitors and its clients.

· Ensuring the program technical milestones happen on time, technologies launch successfully, and software evolution strategies are in place.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a relevant information technology field or a minimum 7 years direct enterprise healthcare IT leadership experience.

• 3-5 years supervisory/management experience required.

• 3-5 years project management, system architecture, and design.

• Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support, oversight and planning to functional area and related systems.
