Responsibilities

Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals, grant commitments, i.e. assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, etc. Monitors results, reports unusual outcomes and suggests modifications. Collects, enters and summarizes data. Assists in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies. Performs basic statistical data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data. Presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts. Works under supervision and may perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigator.

The Kirschner and Chandra labs are looking to hire a joint research technologist to help with intramural funding to assesses the role of reprogramming factors on hematopoietic stem cell rejuvenation. The primary role for the research technologist would be to profile human hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells in vitro. The research technologist should have experience or should be willing to learn standard in vitro assays commonly used in hematology, such as colony forming assays, differentiation assays and culture of primary hematopoietic cells. Additionally, experience in overexpression of lentiviral vectors in human primary cells is desirable alongside single cell RNA-sequencing data generation. The research technologist would need to have competence in basic laboratory procedures such as bio specimens processing, PCR methodologies, and basic flow cytometry. The Kirschner and Chandra labs consists of a robust team of people working on age related clonal hematopoiesis, with special emphasis on cohort data analysis and molecular mechanistic approaches. Qualifications

Requires bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, other relevant science, or an associates degree with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience. Must exhibit a solid understanding of lab techniques, equipment, and safety. Must have the ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting. Experience with basic data analysis is required. This position requires demonstrated writing skills.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.; $26.77-40.16/ hour.
