Responsibilities

The current openings are as follows:

Department of Surgery

The Operations Managers in the Department of Surgery provide day-to-day support of the clinical practice, partnering closely with physicians, allied health and administrative leaders to ensure success of the practice across all shields. The OM is a key member of the Surgery Administrative Committee and will have responsibility for supporting the Divisions of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery, and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. The Department of Surgery performs more than 20,000 primary surgical procedures per year and consists of 12 clinical Divisions.

Language Services

Provides in-person and virtual interpreting resources supporting over 200 different languages. The department is composed of 75 staff who provide Interpreting support for patients and the care teams across all spectrums of care including inpatient, outpatient, primary care and ED. The OM position is responsible for the day-to-day operations and works closely with the Medical Director and OA in setting and driving the strategic direction. This position works closely with International and Diversity leaders to further support Mayo’s diverse patient population and strategies and is also engaged with Bold.Forward.Unbound in Rochester.

Department of Radiology: Nuclear Medicine and Breast Imaging

The Operations Manager provides support for day-to-day operations of the Nuclear Medicine and Breast Imaging clinical practice. The OM is a key member of the practice leadership team, partnering closely with physician, allied health, and administrative leaders to ensure success of the practice. The position is responsible for Rochester operations with limited enterprise engagement.

Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology

The Operations Manager in Gastroenterology & Hepatology will support the outpatient practice within the division. This role involves close collaboration with physician and allied health leaders to oversee daily practice operations. Key responsibilities include leading practice improvement initiatives, standardizing and implementing best practices, and driving innovation by piloting new approaches to care delivery and practice operations that leverage digital and automated solutions. The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and implementing strategic initiatives to drive practice transformation. Administrative duties encompass leading multi-disciplinary teams to execute strategic priorities and quality improvement initiatives, fostering staff development, managing change, and ensuring operational efficiency and clinical excellence within the division.

Department of Neurology

The Operations Manager in Neurology supports the inpatient practices (neurocritical care and hospital neurology), as well as the Enterprise Telestroke Program. This role partners closely with physician and allied health leaders to oversee daily operations of the practice. Key aspects of this role will include leading process improvement initiatives, overseeing financial and quality performance, developing business plans, and piloting new concepts, innovation, and automation. The operations manager will be responsible for leading and implementing strategic initiatives in support of the department’s Bold. Forward. vision. Administrative responsibilities also include but are not limited to managing external client relationships and contracting, quality improvement, change management, and space and equipment strategies. Some travel may be required to provide on-site education and administrative support for telestroke network subscribing and affiliated members sites (<5%).

Orthopedic Surgery

The Operations Manager within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery will play a crucial role in supporting the divisions of Spine, Hand, Oncology, Pediatrics, and Orthopedic Trauma Surgery. This position requires a dynamic individual who can work closely with both Department and Divisional leadership to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities and lead various practice improvement initiatives. This role requires excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment. Direct reports may include operational and clinical supervisors and/or other Department/Division personnel.

Department of Cardiovascular Surgery

The Operations Manager position in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery will provide administrative support to Departmental leadership, consulting staff and allied health teams. Partnering with Department leadership and under the direction of the Operations Administrator, this position is responsible for assuring excellence in clinical operations and supports a range of institutional and departmental activities, including but not limited to: financial management, quality management, practice redesign and convergence, and practice optimization and innovation initiatives. This position works closely with leaders from various multidisciplinary groups and requires strong leadership and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is and 2 years healthcare management experience is required.

A Bachelor's degree with a combination of directly-related experience and education may be considered.

Prefer Master's degree in Business or Healthcare field.

Strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines, i.e., physician, administrative, supervisory, and allied health staff.

Must have excellent communication, organizational and human relation skills. Requires excellent decision-making and judgment capabilities. Must have broad based knowledge of office support and computer systems along with spreadsheets, databases, statistics, software knowledge and installation, and accounting practices for budgetary responsibilities.

Clinical degree and licensure if applicable.
