Position description

The Center for Palliative Medicine is seeking an NP/PA Supervisor. This position leads an established, highly skilled team of advanced practice providers and is integral to the continued success and future growth of the Center for Palliative Medicine in Rochester. The NP/PA supervisor partners closely with Palliative Medicine Center’s administrative and physician leadership in practice development and expansion in targeted service lines. The supervisor helps translate the institutional and Palliative Medicine Center priorities into operational changes. The supervisor is responsible for development and completion of NP/PA professional competencies, promotion of standardization and best practices, and completion of NP/PA performance reviews. The supervisor is responsible for new NP/PA orientation development, practice guideline development, developing relationships with key specialty practices, and administrative tasks, such as trip, timecard and vacation/ leave of absence approvals. This role requires someone who is a forward-thinker, fosters teamwork among several multidisciplinary roles, advocates for the NP/PA practice, and is an excellent communicator. They will be required to lead through positive example and demonstrate high ethical standards. This will be a working supervisor role with approximately .3 FTE of time devoted towards administration and leadership and the remainder towards the clinical practice in the sub- specialty areas of Palliative Medicine inpatient and outpatient practices.

Qualifications

Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, or ACNP; or

Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
