Responsibilities

Join Mayo Clinic’s Spine Center in Rochester, Minnesota as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP/CNS). At the Mayo Clinic Spine Center experts from Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Pain Clinic, Neurology, Neurosurgery and Orthopedic Surgery work together to diagnose and treat complex spine conditions. The Spine Center offers an opportunity for APPs/CNS to work independently and collaboratively in a Care Team approach with physicians, RNs, and other APPs/CNS. Within the Care Team model, the APP/CNS plays a vital role in providing specialized care by performing comprehensive assessments, ordering/reviewing diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans consisting of non-operative management, interventions and physical therapies and patient education.

Because the Spine Center is a highly collaborative, multi-specialty practice, the ideal APP/CNS will demonstrate a strong ability to work effectively with a broad and diverse team of physicians and allied health support staff.

Qualifications

Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner. Current Minnesota RN license and certification as a FNP or ANP.

Or Master's degree with a major in nursing with a Clinical Nurse Specialist focus. Current RN license by applicable state requirements. This position may require a RN license in multiple states. Current APRN, CNS license by applicable state requirements. If state doesn't have APRN licensure, Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification, in designated specialty by a nationally recognized body deemed acceptable by the State Board of Nursing in the state the CNS practices or a documented waiver deemed acceptable by the Board of Nursing in the state the CNS practices, when there is no Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification examination for the specialty.

Or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and licensure as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.

Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges.

2-3 years of NP or PA experience required.

Experience in Spine care or related specialty (e.g. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, Neurology or Orthopedics) preferred.
