Responsibilities

The Critical Care Independent Multidisciplinary Practice (IMP) is seeking Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants (NP / PA) for positions in the Mayo Clinic Hospital setting.

Potential units include:

Coronary Intensive Care Unit

Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit

Multispecialty Intensive Care Unit

Medical Intensive Care Unit / Respiratory Care Unit

Hematology / Oncology / Liver transplant and Enhanced Critical Care

Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit

Selected candidates hired into this Critical Care will have the opportunity to partner with intensivists and other multidisciplinary team members. An NP/PA will perform admission history and physicals, daily assessments and notes, ordering and interpreting of tests and diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, management of medication regimens, and select bedside procedures based on need and the experience of the provider. Candidates should have a strong desire to care for critically ill patients and ICU experience/exposure, although extensive training and mentoring will be included as part of orientation to this role. Qualifications

Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification or eligible to be certified as an ANP, FNP, ACNP, AGACNP; Or Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.

Registration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is required. BLS and ACLS certification required.
