Position description

The Neurophysiology Technologist - Core functions in the neurodiagnostic laboratories performing electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials, Autonomic, and/or Nerve Conduction Studies. The technologists are responsible for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, providing a safe testing environment, and must demonstrate minimum competency, skill, and knowledge in neurodiagnostic procedural testing in the area of hire.


  • Requires a minimum of an associate's degree in Applied Science or related science.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Neurodiagnostics (this includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT education).

  • Those hired into this job description prior to year 2013 will not be impacted by this requirement.

Additional qualifications

  • Computer skills required.

  • Must have demonstrated communication, problem solving, and organizational ability.

License or certification

  • Must be a current Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist, Clinical Neurophysiology Technologist graduate or current CNT student to apply.

  • Within two years of employment, specific certification through ABRET - Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (R. EEG T., R. EP T., CNIM, CLTM and CAP); Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM; CNCT) and/or AAET – The Nerve Conduction Association (R.NCS.T.) is required in the laboratory of hire.

  • The Registry Examination should be attempted as soon as the employee is eligible.

  • Must have current certification in Basic Life Support.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $24.86 per hour.

Schedule details

Monday-Friday 7:30-4PM. The core technologist will rotate to the evening shift for one week at a time approximately 4 times a year to the epilepsy monitoring unit.
