Position description

This is a full time remote position within the United States.

The Clinical Specialty and Informatics Unit within the Section of Hospital and Surgical Systems in the Departmental Systems Division has an IT Senior Analyst/Programmer position opening for our Medical Informatics team. The position will be involved in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of DataMart and Dashboards that support the PRIISM Program for the Departments of Anesthesiology and Surgery. Responsibilities include but are not limited to data analysis, data integration, data modeling, reporting, data visualization, and application development. The candidates will closely work with product owner and business analyst on understanding objectives, capturing business rules, applying data in the data mart to solve business problems, troubleshooting data issues, and assisting with data analytic activities.

Candidates must have strong experience with Data Mart/Data Warehouse development as well as BI solution development, particularly on designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting ETL process using technology specific ETL, SSIS, stored procedure, TSQL(analytics), OLAP, SQL scripts, C# script ,Microsoft SQL server, and IBM DB2 as well as designing and developing dashboards using BI analytics tools such as Tableau and/or Thoughtspot. Google Cloud Computing and Analytics, Data Virtualization concepts and tool Denodo, Azure DevOps, and application development experience in either C#, .Net or Java is preferred. Working experience in healthcare industry and EMR system such as EPIC is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience;

Or, Associate’s degree and 7 years’ experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience.

Additional qualifications

Applies effective system design principles and software development methodologies. Demonstrated ability to multi-task among multiple complex assigned tasks/projects. Evidence of strong communication, meeting management, and organizational skills and ability to adjust the message as appropriate to the audiences of varying technical capabilities. Evidence of project management skills. Possesses an objective and positive attitude with all tasks and projects. Possesses a high level of project and deliverable consistency through demonstrated repeatable and reliable performance. Evidence of ability to take initiative and proactive on starting tasks and assignments and ability to work independently. Experience working in healthcare technology. Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications. Masters degree in applicable field preferred.
