Position description

The International Clinical Specialty Rep is responsible for promoting Mayo Clinic's core values and supporting community-based health care and integrated delivery systems through the sale of Mayo Clinic Laboratories (MCL) tests in Neurology throughout Latin America (Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, and South America) and Canada. This position is:

  • Accountable for generating new business revenue and co-developing with MCL clients their specific account and/or test selling and promotional strategies.

  • In collaboration with the International Director of Clinical Specialty Sales (IDCSS), International Director of Sales – Hospital Systems, International Regional Managers and their clients, project annual sales growth, market dynamics, and economic conditions.

  • Co-develop and implement business plans for territory/accounts.

  • Effectively sell and compel buying influences, engaging with physicians, and institution/laboratory leadership to move testing to MCL by differentiating from competing interests.

  • Coordinate appropriate resources, develop presentations and participate in the bid process for new and upsell opportunities.

  • In collaboration with Product Managers, and members on the International Sales and Service Team, identify specific tests or groups of test that are differentiated in the market and pursue upsells to targeted clients.

  • With International Regional Managers, negotiate pricing, coordinate contract development and execution, and monitor the accurate lock-in of prices.

This position may require travel up to 60%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's and three years’ experience in sales (preferably within the market segment they will be representing (e.g., Neurology), physician/client facing contact or negotiating contracts within a hospital or laboratory setting.

This position requires incumbent to work from an office in their home located in the USA and near a major airport.

Additional qualifications

  • Strong preference toward candidates with technical biosciences background, e.g. formal education in biochemistry or genetics. Prefer candidates who have successfully completed advanced academic degrees or specialized training in subject matter relevant to the job skills described above.

  • Health care industry experience is preferred. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with a proven track record of successful international sales experience.

  • Strong preference for candidates with full professional fluency in Spanish. Fluency in Portuguese or French is also a plus.

  • Must have excellent human relations and communications skills.

  • Must be accountable, adaptable, flexible, creative, dependable, responsible, and able to perform well within multi-functional environments, and be customer-focused.

  • Must be able to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects.

  • Must possess decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to function and work in a diverse work-environment while selling MCL services and providing direction to clients in a concise, sensitive, informative, and professional manner.

  • Must maintain a high-level of integrity and be self-motivated to work independently.

  • Must keep abreast of regulatory issues, reimbursement issues, and service requirements.

License or certification

Valid driver's license and a good driving record are required, along with the ability to travel extensively on all forms of major public transportation. Passport required.
