Responsibilities

This position is located at Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital, Central Inpatient Pharmacy in Rochester, MN. Responsibilities include medication management services in coordinator with other health care professionals to deliver safe, appropriate, and cost-effective therapy to patients. Responsibilities also include assessment of medication therapy regimens, medication therapy management, medication order verification/entry, medication distribution, documentation of medication therapy plans, and medication use education and pharmaceutical care services. Additionally, pharmacists are active members in quality improvement, research activities, and education. The night pharmacist team covers all areas of the hospital including: intensive care units, pediatrics, emergency/surgical, transplant, labor and delivery, and many others.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree or equivalent experience. Equivalent experience includes at least two years of relevant pharmacy practice experience.

  • Computer experience. Commitment to excellence, accuracy, attention to detail and teamwork. Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively with others, organize time well, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • The following are preferred: Completion of an accredited pharmacy residency. Experience of working in a large, progressive academic medical center. History of scholarly activities including publication and scientific meeting presentations. Experience and / or interest in teaching.

License or Certification:

  • License to practice Pharmacy in the State of Minnesota or eligibility for licensure.
