Position description

Supports Mayo’s Division of Healthcare Technology Management; Mayo Clinic, METS leadership, Enterprise and Local Equipment Committees and clinical leadership to develop and support lifecycle management plans for medical devices used throughout Mayo Clinic; especially devices that are used in multiple clinical departments and ensures alignment with strategic Mayo goals. Serves as HTM liaison to local and enterprise capital committees, and Supply Chain Management on issues related to capital asset management. Partners with Supply Chain Management to negotiate enterprise purchase and service agreements, secure competitive bids and procure equipment. Develops asset management policies and procedures in accordance with strategic Mayo goals and objectives and within appropriate regulatory parameters. Partners with enterprise and/or capital committees and departmental clinical leadership to coordinate submission of capital proposals from "plan to initiate" through "program and budget" to local Clinical Practice Committee and/or Mayo Clinic Clinical Practice Committee. Incumbent will gather requirements and inputs from multiple sources, define business objectives, translated objectives into discrete projects, build consensus, obtain buy-in and handle multiple projects. Develops and manages high-level project timelines, resources and cost estimates in a highly complex matrix organization. Directly responsible for definition and sequencing medical device purchases, leading a team of technical specialists, subject matter experts and HTM project managers in development of the lifecycle management plans for medical devices.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Business or Healthcare field and two years healthcare management experience with strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines, i.e., physician, administrative, supervisory, and allied health staff. A Bachelor's degree with a combination of directly-related experience and education may be considered. Must have excellent communication, organizational and human relation skills. Requires excellent decision-making and judgment capabilities. Must have broad based knowledge of medical equipment and office support and computer systems along with spreadsheets, databases, statistics, software knowledge and installation, and accounting practices for budgetary responsibilities.

Authorization to work and remain in the United States, without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorship now, or in the future (for example, be a U.S. Citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

Additional qualifications

Clinical or Electrical/Electronics Engineering background and experience in a healthcare environment are highly preferred.

Preferred candidate would have extensive experience supporting medical equipment, working with medical equipment systems and the overall support and medical equipment lifecycle management and the accreditation needs related to The Joint Commission and several other healthcare and laboratory accreditation agencies’ requirements. Work experience with medical equipment projects on an enterprise/org-wide basis, project management experience related to medical equipment and medical equipment systems installation and implementation.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $4,162 based on a full-time position.
