Responsibilities

Responsible for the operations of the Facilities Warehouse. A 100,000+ SF facility that supports project delivery. Coordinates short term storage of new and used construction materials, owner supplied equipment, carpet, new and used furniture, and other facilities related items that are intended to be installed within Mayo Clinic buildings during the projects delivery. Manages the quantity, logistics and distribution of materials stored in the warehouse. Implement methods that will increase the turnover of materials stored at the warehouse. Provide access to surplus furniture, cabinetry, and construction materials for Mayo Clinic Health System. Collaborate with facilities staff to support just-in-time deliveries aiding project delivery. Work with Construction Industry Partners to minimize utilization of Mayo Clinic space on the main Mayo Clinic campus. Monitor the production and materials used in the cabinet shop, paint shop, and upholstery shop which support construction activities at Mayo Clinic. Monitor the archive storage space for FPS. Implement processes and technology to streamline the material delivery processes. Oversee approximately 30 contracted contractor (non-Mayo) staff, whom comprise the work force for the warehouse. Ensure an inventory tracking system for the warehouse is utilized, maintained, and communicated to stakeholders. Mange the relationship with outside vendors for disposal or recycling of salvaged facilities items.

Qualifications

The incumbent should have a minimum of a four-year BA or BS degree and five years of related work experience. Must have good knowledge of shipping, storage, receiving, and distributing techniques. Must be able to perform a financial analysis of the cost to store materials at the warehouse. Must understand the project delivery process. Have a high level of decision-making ability, scheduling, and interpersonal and communications skills are required. Ability to work independently in carrying out the duties and make necessary decisions to assure a smooth functioning operation on a daily basis. Serves as a resources and consults with Facilities Project Services staff routinely. Must be able to work with and meet strict schedules of delivery as required to meet the needs of a project(s).
