Position description The Division Chair (Executive Director) of Enterprise Portfolio Management Office leads the function portfolio/program/project management and business analysis for the Mayo Clinic enterprise. This position leads an agile, outcome-based function that spans portfolio, program and project management, as well as business analysis. Key services encompass client consulting, resourcing, prioritization, planning, analysis, modeling, management, tracking and reporting. In addition, this position leads the standardization, training and education and enterprise systems and infrastructure used not only by this centralized shared service, but also by all portfolio, program and project managers across the Mayo Clinic enterprise.

The Division Chair of Enterprise Portfolio Management Office embraces innovative and agile approaches and combines internal and external knowledge to improve processes. The Division Chair plays a pivotal role in internal/external forums such as “Agile Champions Network” to remain abreast of emerging trends and enable professional connections among people working in the respective disciplines across Mayo Clinic. They create a nimble, customer service driven function adept at working collaboratively and nimbly with physician and administrative colleagues, and across department and institutional lines.

Qualifications + Master’s degree in related field

  • Five years of people leadership experience

  • Ten years of healthcare or relevant industry experience in strategy, operations, finance, or portfolio, program and project management.

  • Successful track record in people leadership, diverse talent development and team performance excellence. Proven ability to build, grow and develop direct reports and oversee a large organization.

  • Excellent communication, network and influencer skills, including the ability to work effectively in a collaborative matrix management environment.

  • Highly organized and efficient systems thinker with strong financial and analytical acumen.

  • Proven ability to build successful, collaborative relationships with highest levels of physician and administrative leadership, and to understand and strategically apply outcomes metrics.

  • Successful track record to work effectively in a complex, consensus environment that expects and promotes teamwork.

  • Proven ability to successfully undertake and execute multiple large and complex initiatives simultaneously.

  • Strong strategic judgment, commitment to continuous improvement and ability to influence change.

  • Must demonstrate ability to handle sensitive/confidential/proprietary information.

Schedule details M-F, day shift. This position may work remotely 75% of the time, with an expectation of 25% on-campus work and/or business travel. The preference is for this individual to be located proximal to the Arizona, Florida or Rochester campus.
