Responsibilities

The role is a key thought partner to Mayo Clinic executives, with an important voice in Mayo Clinic's financial, strategic, and operational execution, providing counsel and insights in a high-performance, high-velocity environment. Responsibilities: * Critical participant in Mayo Clinic's strategic planning cycle. Responsible for aligning and fully integrating the strategic planning and financial planning cycles. * Partner with executives to lead dynamic financial and strategic analyses for key leadership and governance groups including the Mayo Clinic Boards, Mayo Clinic CEO's Cabinet, practice executive operations teams, key business segment executives, and other institutional committees and workgroups. * Own the design, development, and execution of financial planning operations, including intra-year forecasting, annual financial plan, and long-range financial planning. * Partner with Mayo Clinic's enterprise CFO, practice CFOs, and Finance Department Chairs to execute key programs and objectives, including aligning short-term and long-range financial goals; complex financial analyses and modeling to support business decision making; potential indirect (dotted line) oversight of select financial teams. * Oversee key elements of the enterprise or business unit capital expenditure process, including capital planning, modeling, forecasting, prioritization, and approval. The role scans the external environment to identify opportunities to improve results, keeping abreast of new trends in planning, finance and accounting across industries. Able to effectively create and communicate a picture of the future and lead a team in developing and executing tactics that deliver on the future vision. Develop an empowered workforce focused on outcomes. Some travel required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required (accounting, business, or finance preferred), with 12 years of applicable accounting or finance experience required. MBA or master’s degree with an accounting or finance focus is preferred. Ten years of executive management and complex leadership experience is required.Able to influence strategic direction of the organization with effective negotiation skills. Possesses a strategic mindset with proven experience as a catalyst, driving behavior change. Has deep experience in strategic analysis and assessment, with ability to develop and deliver dynamic presentations that tell Mayo Clinic’s financial, operational, and strategic story. Prior financial experience with international operations is desired, while prior financial experience in technology-based organizations is helpful.Certified Public Accounting or Certified Management Accountant certification preferred.
