The Mayo Clinic Special Purpose Processor Development Group (SPPDG) is an R&D team dedicated to the development of next generation electronics and optics technologies for high-speed signal processing applications, in particular for, though not limited to, high clock rate digital signal processors and wide bandwidth, high center frequency analog systems. The SPPDG is equipped with a full suite of CAD and simulation tools, a high performance Class 1000 test facility, and Class 10 and Class 100 microelectronic assembly clean rooms. The selected candidate will support a variety of technical platforms (MS Windows, Linux, SQL Server Management, Web Application Support, Programming tool environment support, storage, virtualization, networks), while performing in a variety of job functions (OS administrator, database administrator, network specialist, CAD software specialist, hardware specialist, etc.). Position description

The Mayo Clinic Special Purpose Processor Development Group (SPPDG) is in need of a Computer System Administrator to assist with network, hardware, and software support for the group’s computer systems. The Special Purpose Processor Development Group (SPPDG), a research group within Mayo Clinic, has a small team of its own System Administrators to support its diverse and unique IT infrastructure needs in an environment that includes Windows, Linux and Microsoft productivity tools; Electronic CAD and analysis tools; network infrastructure; etc. As part of the SPPDG System Administrator team, the selected candidate's primary focus will be to provide frontline computer support for the Windows and Linux platforms in the SPPDG. The selected candidate will also work with the other System Administrators to configure and install computer system hardware and software. Other responsibilities include working collaboratively with the SPPDG System Administrator team and other group members on defining systems and software needed to support future group IT needs.

Qualifications

4-year Bachelor of Science Degree related to computer science. Experience of at least 3 years.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Additional qualifications

System Administrator experience required. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating System configuration and support. Experience with the following: Linux, SQL Server, Active Directory, Security, storage protocols, network protocols, CAD tools, programming languages/environments is desirable. Additional desirable qualifications include knowledge of NIST SP 800-171. The ability to efficiently handle a variety of tasks simultaneously and manage routine project assignments independently are key to succeeding in this position.

License or certification

Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation. Will be expected to extend skill set through self-study, internal and external technical classes as well as internal professional development classes. Must obtain CISSP certification within 3 years.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2919.20, based on a full-time position.
