Responsibilities

The division of Cardiovascular Diseases at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, is seeking a cardiovascular-critical care (cardiac intensivist) physician. The Division of Cardiovascular Diseases is comprised of approximately 130 specialists of which 14 participate actively in the Cardiac ICU section. The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) provides care to critically ill adult patients with altered cardiac function, hemodynamic instability and multiple potential comorbid conditions in a closed unit setting. A multidisciplinary team, including medicine, pharmacy, nursing, cardiovascular monitoring technicians, respiratory technicians, dietitians, chaplains and a well-rounded house staff provide care collaboratively and effectively.

Qualifications

Candidates must be board-certified in internal medicine and BC/BE in cardiovascular disease and critical care medicine. The ideal candidate must be experienced and credentialed in central venous and arterial line placement, transvenous temporary pacemaker positioning, pulmonary artery balloon floatation catheter placement and monitoring, advanced cardiac life support and conscious sedation administration and monitoring.

Must be able to obtain medical licensure in the state of MN.
