Responsibilities

The Renal Biopsy Laboratory is one of the top renal biopsy consultation providers in the U.S. and is an essential component of Mayo Clinic’s kidney transplant program and nephrology practices. The laboratory analyzes over 6,500 biopsies per year and performs a variety of techniques, specialty stains, and ancillary services that yields to providing the highest quality in the delivery of patient results. The laboratory works collaboratively across various areas within and outside Anatomic Pathology, including Mayo Clinic Laboratories/clients, and the Microscopy and Cell Analysis Core Laboratory.

The Renal Biopsy Laboratory has an opening for an Assistant Supervisor. Your responsibilities in this dynamic lab will include:

• Assisting with the management and development of staff.

• Assisting with oversight of and accountability for quality and service, regulatory compliance, work unit safety, strategic planning, document management, and developing and implementing new services.

• Working cooperatively with a wide variety of customers, as well as internal and external resources.

• Collaborating on special projects as assigned by the laboratory consultant/director(s), administrator and/or operations manager(s), and DLMP supervisor.

• Actively partnering with team members by fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting others with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.

*Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to apply to other positions within Mayo Clinic.

**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Assistant Supervisor position, you need to meet the minimum requirements below.

• Bachelor's degree and three years of clinical laboratory experience.

Additional Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science (CLS), medical laboratory science (MLS), medical technology (MT), management/business, sciences, or a health-related field is preferred.

• Demonstrated leadership, communication (oral and written) and problem-solving ability.

• Must be highly organized, efficient, and able to work independently.

• Requires human relations skills to influence and motivate others.

• MUST have a DETAILED equivalency evaluation.

• MUST show US equivalent degree.

• Evaluation MUST be completed from an organization listed as a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) www.naces.org OR the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE) www.aice-eval.org .
