What You’ll Do
70% – Daily Accounting Functions
Coordinate with Project Managers (PMs) to help prepare, maintain and monitor construction project budgets for new projects, primarily through the Yardi accounting system.
Communicate with PMs on coding invoices, getting approvals, making budget revisions, preparing ad-hoc reports, and providing other timely support.
Separate capital costs and operating costs as part of entering accounting transactions.
Assist in preparing projections and drawdown schedules.
Review legal agreements (leases, operating and management agreements, etc.)
Work closely with property managers to prepare annual operating budgets and forecasts for each entity managed.
Prepare depreciation and amortization schedules to accurately track assets.
Depreciate and amortize fixed and intangible assets using proper accounting principles.
Assist in maintaining Partner Capital sheets to track investor equity contributions and returns.
Monitor Accounts Payable to make timely payments to vendors.
Understand intercompany transactions, where there is a parent entity and subsidiaries, in order to efficiently transfer cash and costs among entities.
30% – Everything Else
Prepare monthly construction draw packages for lenders.
Assist in tracking the funding of capital for each project, whether through partner/investor equity or loan funding.
Compile monthly and quarterly financial reports for NorthPoint and its investors.
Prepare and enter monthly journal entries as part of closing out financial periods.
Generate ad-hoc cash analysis and other reconciliation reports.
Complete bank reconciliations on a monthly basis for all entities managed.
Assist with the preparation of annual tax returns and financial audits.
Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned.

What Experience/Skills You’ll Need
Accounting degree required.
Master's in business or accounting (completed or in progress) preferred.
CPA or desire to obtain a CPA license preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
