DEPARTMENT: Athletics Department POSITION: Head Coach/Baseball POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics OVERVIEW: Manhattan College, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a 12 month, full-time position as Head Coach for the Baseball program. The successful candidate is responsible for all aspects in leading a competitive NCAA Division I baseball program to include, but not limited to: recruitment of qualified student-athletes, hiring and supervision of assistant coach(es), game scheduling, coaching (practice and in-game), successful management of program budgets, fundraising, meet NCAA APR requirements while supporting student-athlete academic success, and develop championship teams while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Must be committed to managing the program within the guidelines of the NCAA, MAAC and Manhattan College Department of Intercollegiate Athletic policies and procedures and will be expected to work cooperatively with all constituencies and campus units. RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but not limited to: Develop competitive and championship teams while maintaining high ethical standards. Manage and direct the program to include recruitment of student-athletes with high quality standards academically and athletically. Hiring, supervision and evaluation of assistant coach(es). Game and practice scheduling, direction of all practices, skill development. Responsible to use ARMS software to maintain and update activities regarding the program. Successful management of program budgets, engage in fundraising initiatives and enhance alumni relations. Supporting student-athlete academic success. Attend regularly scheduled department meetings. Work cooperatively with athletic administration, attends department meetings and activities. Build and sustain a positive student-athlete experience and develop relationships with former players, faculty, alumni and staff. Represent the college positively when interacting with community, alumni, high school and club coaches, and media. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree required. Minimum of 3-5 years of coaching experience at the Division I level. Former collegiate player preferred. Assertive, motivated, outgoing and resourceful with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor while working in a fast-paced environment. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills. Thorough knowledge of all NCAA, MAAC and institutional governing conduct of intercollegiate athletics. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with campus constituents. Possess a valid driver's license. Required to travel and work nights, weekends and some holidays.
