The Departmentof Oncology Translational Sciences is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Scientist III/IV to join our Ridgefield, CT biomarker research team. The successful candidate will utilize cutting-edge molecular and cellular biology methods to identify novel biomarkers for patient/indication selection, target engagement and pharmacodynamics that strengthen and advance research projects in the Oncology portfolio. The Scientist III/IV will contribute to the discovery of biomarkers and to the characterization of the mode of action of immuno-oncology therapies using their technical scientific expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan and execute experiments in an independentmanner leveraging scientific and technical expertise to achieve definedobjectives. Independently initiates and carries out the process for assaydevelopment, optimization and validation as required.

  • Culture cell lines and process primary tissuesfrom different species.

  • Utilize multi-color flow cytometry and masscytometry (CyTOF) techniques to develop novel assays for target engagementand/or pharmacodynamics biomarkers.

  • Work with lab supervisor to identify and optimizenew and innovative assays associated with cytometry based biomarker discovery.

  • Perform Molecular and Cellular Assays toidentify predictive and pharmacodynamic biomarkers.

  • Utilize molecular techniques to aid in theunderstanding of drug candidate mode of action.

  • Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.

  • Ordering of laboratory consumables to ensurecontinuous supplies.

  • Design, execute, interpret and completeprojects in a timely manner.

  • Work well in a highly matrixed environment andsupport multiple projects at the same time.

  • Work independently with the capability to troubleshootexperimental procedures.

  • Provide training and guidance to laboratorypersonnel.

  • Prepare technical reports, publications andoral presentations.

    Scientist III Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus(3+) years of experience in related scientific discipline, OR Bachelor’s Degreefrom an accredited institution with seven-plus (7+) years of experience inrelated scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field

  • Extensive cellculture experience with both cell lines and primary immune cells.

  • Practical experienceand knowledge with multi-color/ multi-parametric cytometry based approaches,including cell preparation, staining and acquisition.

  • Practical experiencewith general molecular biology techniques (ex. qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction,Western Blot, etc) from tissues and cells.

  • Ability to perform Immunobiologyassays, such as Luminex, ELISA, MSD, ELISpot, etc.

  • Demonstrate effectivewritten and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to performroutine lab work without supervision, and design and execute non-routineexperiments on a basis of literature analyses.

  • Ability to reporttechnical data concisely and accurately, and capable of overall datainterpretation.

  • Proficiency withcomputers and familiarity with data analysis software (GraphPad, FlowJo, etc).

Scientist IV Requirements:

  • Master’sDegree from an accredited institution with six-plus (6+) years ofexperience in a related scientific discipline, OR Bachelor’s Degree froman accredited institution with 10+ years of experience in a related fieldor equivalent experience in a related field

  • Extensive cellculture experience with both cell lines and primary immune cells.

  • Expertise inmulti-color/ multi-parametric cytometry based approaches, including cellpreparation, staining and acquisition.

  • Practical experiencewith general molecular biology techniques (ex. qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction,Western Blot, etc) from tissues and cells.

  • Extensive experiencein Immunobiology Assays, such as Luminex, ELISA, MDS, ELISpot, etc.

  • Demonstrate excellentwritten and verbal communication skills.

  • Capable of planning, conductingand troubleshooting more complex and challenging laboratory experiments generallywithout supervision, and evaluate and interpret data.

  • Proficiency withcomputers and experience with data analysis software (GraphPad, FlowJo, etc).


  • Must be legally authorized to work in theUnited States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offerphysical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
