Position Purpose

The primary role of the Sr Developer III (Lead) position is to oversee and mentor a small team of developers and business analysts and to lead and deliver development projects for custom business applications and reports both independently and with the team. This role will work directly with business stakeholders, IT management, and the development team to guide projects to completion, lead code reviews, provide ideas for technology and process improvements, and deliver well-documented solutions that accommodate stakeholder and business process needs while ensuring that department and coding processes are followed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Candidate must have extensive IBM iSeries platform knowledge.

  • Fluent in RPG and SQLRPG, with ability to work in RPG Free. iSeries

  • SQL knowledge required.

  • Candidate must have experience in warehouse operations and transportation for large scale distribution. This includes but is not limited to inventory and picking allocation, routing trucks for customer deliveries, selection (RF, voice, label) and proof of delivery systems.

  • Candidate must be able to interface with third party systems such as trailer pallet planning, routing, selection and other similar packages.

  • Candidate must be able to work with users to translate what is being requested into what is needed and develop solutions to meet those needs.

  • Experience using Turnover or similar change management tools for proper source control.

  • Experience in data conversions (Flat files, CSV, Excel) to IBM iSeries.

  • Candidate must be a self-starter who is able to work independently and meet deliverables with minimum direct supervision.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
