Network Services has an immediate opening for an Engineer-Associate, reporting to Lead-IT-Technology.
The primary focus for this position will be the support and administration of FRS infrastructure that administers and monitors host intrusion detection systems. This will include the support, provisioning, and applying software updates. With an understanding of networking, security, tools administration and industry security best practices, you will contribute to efforts to implement an enterprise-wide, unified strategy for the next generation of host intrusion detection monitoring and alerting.
This is a hands-on engineering position where you will develop automation and repeatable processes to support service infrastructure administration and maintenance, ensuring that our infrastructure and products are secure, highly available, and able to deliver business value to our customers.
Beyond the basic support and administration of host intrusion detection tools, over time, you will be expected to gain an advanced knowledge of networking, scripting and automation, and perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Do:
Engage with senior engineers and other FRS staff to develop solutions that meet business, compliance, and security requirements.
Perform evaluation of hardware, environmental, and operating systems and subsystems. Work with senior engineers to identify possible issues and develop preventative measures. Measure system and application performance to ensure proper operation.
Perform change and incident management using standard FRS tools. Ensure changes comply with existing FRS system standards.
Participate in complex projects in partnership with senior engineers and other FRS staff and resources.
Engage in continuous learning in the areas of networking, security, cloud services, and systems administration.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent information technology degree with 0 to 3+ years of relevant work experience.
Prior experience working with host intrusion detection tools.
Prior experience with scripting and/or automation experience desirable.
A demonstrable understanding of networking concepts and operations.
A demonstrable understanding of Windows- and UNIX-style operating systems.
Preferred demonstrable understanding of cloud architecture and cloud application deployments.
A demonstrable understanding of, or prior experience working within a large Agile organization.
Preferred certification in one or more of the following: CISSP, GSEC, CCSP, AWS Cloud Practitioner, SAFe, or related programs.
