Job Summary

*This position will require the successful candidate to report to the office in Richmond, VA up to 5 days a week. It is not eligible for permanent or long-term remote work under normal business conditions.

This role is responsible for leading a team of engineers, analysts and supervisors for deploying and maintaining critical systems in the control center including the distribution management system (DMS) and network management system (NMS). This role is also responsible for the integration of other systems such as the Outage Management System, Asset management system, mobile dispatch system, GIS, and dSCADA, and for managing and maintaining data associated with technical applications leveraged by the distribution operating.

Duties include:

  • Understanding systems' dependencies and ensuring overall system(s) integration (infrastructure, communication and compatibility), safety, reliability and performance

  • Liaising with IT department

  • Analyzing software version upgrades and security patch programs to ensure seamless and successful deployment

  • Partnering with peer groups by conducting detailed analysis of emerging technologies including Network applications

  • Microgrids, Distributed Energy Resources to integrate and operate this equipment on our distribution system

  • Assisting in developing financial business cases for all technology related expenses (CapEx and O&M)

  • Leading a team of technical resources supporting specific technology applications for Power Delivery

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

  • 8+ years significant electric utility industry related experience

  • Preferred: SCADA experience

  • Preferred: Previous experience in a titled leadership position

  • Firm knowledge of the electric distribution system and how it operates.

  • Strong knowledge of systems analysis and design methodologies and various information system technologies and tools

  • Strong knowledge of various business systems and processes

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills

  • Strong business acumen skills

  • Ability to conduct competitive analysis of comparable products

  • Ability to develop competent business cases to support ultimate decisions

  • Basic project management skills such as: planning, scheduling, coaching and resource identification

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to negotiate and influence others

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Other computer-related experience desired
