Job Summary

Dominion Voltage Inc () is excited to offer an opportunity for a 2025 Summer Intern on our dynamic engineering team. This role presents a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the advancement of DVI’s cutting-edge distribution voltage control and optimization solution. The intern will assist in monitoring the performance of existing algorithms and support research aimed at developing next-generation algorithms. A strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, particularly in power systems, is highly valued. We seek candidates who demonstrate critical thinking and data analysis skills, as well as familiarity with analysis software and programming languages such as C/C++, Python, PowerBI, CYME, MATLAB, and Microsoft Office.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing and evaluating existing control algorithms using field data.

  • Contribute to performance assessments and help generate recommendations based on analytical findings.

  • Help create a new product capability, define requirements, and had off to the development team.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Familiarity with electric power systems and engineering principles.

  • Hands-on experience or coursework related to distribution systems and engineering tools is preferred.

  • Familiarity with analysis software and programming languages is desirable, such as C/C++, Python, PowerBI, CYME, MATLAB, and Microsoft Office.

  • Competence in analyzing data and performance metrics to identify potential improvements.

  • Capability to handle and interpret large datasets effectively.

  • Capacity to support research and development efforts aimed at innovating next-generation algorithms.

  • Verbal, written and interpersonal communication; time management and organization; math and technical aptitude.

  • Effectively interact and work in a team environment; attention to detail; understand and apply work flow process.

Education Requirements

  • Enrolled in a 4-year Electrical engineering degree from an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET.

  • Students should have a graduation date of Summer 2026 or later.

  • Must have a 2.5 GPA or greater.
