About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Accounting and Reporting Assistant Vice President (AVP) will lead the Financial Accounting and Reporting team in how we continue to transform our accounting function after the recent implementation of a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform. This leader along with their team, work closely with District business lines, System workgroups, the Board of Governors, and both our internal and external audit teams to ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting and the internal controls over our financial statements. The Financial Accounting and Reporting AVP will be forward-looking and pro-active, driving for results while actively coaching and managing talent.
What You Will Do
Oversees the accounting function that support the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and the Federal Reserve System’s national information technology organization.
Ensure timely and accurate accounting operations and financial statement preparation in accordance with compliance standards, including all aspects of accounting operations, assets and capital reporting, payroll and benefit accounting, financial statement footnotes and other reporting and analysis as needed.
Advance and maintain an effective internal control environment with supporting policy and process documentation.
Build resiliency and efficiency through automation and cross-training.
Engage across functions, Federal Reserve organizations, as well as within the team, to understand changing business demand and identify and implement process improvements.
Assess the talent within the teams, recruit, develop and maintain an agile workforce through succession planning and career pathing.
Qualifications and Considerations
5+ years of relevant leadership experience, including building a cohesive, effective, and creative team.
Proven record of successfully driving and leading through change
Ability to achieve results in a multi-functional, complex organizational structure with numerous diverse business customers.
Exceptional problem-solving skills, willingness to take ownership of issues and drive for resolution.
Strong communicator with ability to effectively convey complex issues to a variety of stakeholders.
Excellent relationship management skills to effectively partner with senior leaders and business lines.
Ability to navigate complex situations and determine a path forward with proactive input.
Track record of delivering timely and accurate results with strong attention to detail.
Ability to maintain a positive team culture with a customer-service mindset in a dynamic environment.
History of successful talent development, workforce management, and succession planning.
CPA and/or MBA preferred.

The hiring range of the Assistant Vice President is $151,900 – $208,890 annually.
Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications.
