We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

This posting is for two positions, and each will be filled at the level commensurate with the chosen candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience. These positions ensure company compliance with air, water, oil, chemical, and waste permits as well as federal, state, and local environmental regulations while supporting the solar project construction team. The successful candidates will:

  • Have a responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the work site, to comply with regulatory and company standards and procedures.

  • Serve as liaison with external and governmental agencies.

  • Coordinate with and monitor operations and maintenance personnel, to ensure site compliance with environmental, chemical safety, waste management, and wildlife management rules and regulations.

  • Inspect or assess and provide recommendations regarding compliance issues to management.

  • Analyze data and prepare management reports on environmental compliance or safety records.

  • Serve as primary site coordinator with internal department and external agencies on environmental, safety or chemical management issues.

  • Serve as contact with community to resolve complaints or problems.

  • Procure services or materials for the administration and implementation of environmental and safety programs.

  • Coordinate hazardous waste disposal.

  • Provide training to site personnel in handling of chemicals and waste materials, and for other procedural requirements.

  • Evaluate new regulations and coordinates compliance plan.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Environmental Compliance Coordinator: 2+ years of directly related experience with a preferred Bachelor's degree (Or 5+ years of experience with Associate’s Degree Or 7+ years of experience with High School Degree / equivalent).

Senior Environmental Compliance Coordinator: 5+ years of directly related experience with a preferred Bachelor's degree (Or 7+ years of experience with Associate’s Degree Or 9+ years of experience with High School Degree / equivalent).

Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications. A master’s degree can count as one year experience.

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following for both levels:

• Strong knowledge of related environmental regulations and applicable environmental permits

• Preferred experience in more than one environmental multi-media (i.e. water, waste, air, oil, chemical management, wildlife, etc.)

• Proven ability to develop, implement and administer complex environmental compliance plans and processes

• Ability to interpret and/or apply environmental requirements to company operations and translate regulatory regulations, permit and plan requirements into understandable compliance guidance

• Ability to prepare and/or review compliance and regulatory documents and reports

• Strong technical writing, communication and public relations skills

• Strong data analysis and record keeping skills

• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel and Power Point)

• Excellent organizational, time management and leadership skills

• Ability to work independently and to be self-directed

• Ability to work in field environments

• Ability to manage contract resources

• Ability to diplomatically handle sensitive situations with regulatory agencies, the public, and company personnel at all levels

• Prior work experience in an industrial environment (i.e. utility, manufacturing, construction, mining, etc.)

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
