Responsible for leading complex large-scale programs with multiple workstreams requiring contributions from multiple Digital and Technology teams, programs with critical timelines, or business-critical and strategic initiatives. Coaches and mentors other team members with the potential to recruit, manage and develop a team of direct reports.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead complex, large-scale technology delivery programs requiring contributions from multiple Digital and Technology product teams, programs with critical timelines, or business-critical and strategic initiatives. Follow the Program Management CoP guidelines and best practices.
Use a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional technical program/project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach to ensure the appropriate level of planning and monitoring to facilitate timely and high-quality product and project delivery.
Independently drive each applicable stage throughout the program lifecycle and ensure critical information is shared among applicable team members and stakeholders. Demonstrates creativity and takes initiative in solving complex problems. Drives trade-offs in decision-making to meet commitments or outcomes.
Develop strong partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of program and product outcomes to meet key business objectives.
Mentors direct reports and partners to create development plans for continued growth
Ensure teams are delivering against the plan and work with the teams to raise concerns and hold teams accountable for actions.
Articulate status, provide actionable updates, speak to current risks, and provide risk aversion plans. Provide program communication both written and verbal down at the team level as well as executive leaders within Best Buy.
Provide day-to-day leadership and work direction across the program
Basic Technical and/or Soft Skills:
Experience with evolving project management and agile tools (JIRA, Project, Wiki, Slack)
Extensive experience with agile product and engineering practices/routines in the context of delivering technology application changes - such as agile development rhythms and ceremonies, integration patterns in the context of full technology stack engineering, and DevOps and continuous integration models and principles.
Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view.
Strong communication skills - both written and verbal; ability to lead and influence without authority; ability to land difficult messages with stakeholders.
4 or more years of project management experience
3 or more years of agile or product delivery experience
2 or more years of experience managing large, strategic technology initiatives
2 or more years of experience working with Senior Executives
1 or more years of indirect team management/leadership/work direction
6 or more years of technology project management or delivery management experience
2 or more years of people management experience
Experience working on a technology delivery team
Experience with change management, business analysis, or process analysis
