Biogen Reliability Program Manager in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

As a Reliability Program Manager at Biogen, you'll be an integral contributor within the Facilities Engineering Technical Authority, responsible for spearheading a comprehensive reliability program. This pivotal role involves ensuring the unwavering reliability, availability, and serviceability of our facilities, equipment, and systems throughout Biogen’s global manufacturing network. You'll lead the charge in program development, maintenance, enhancement, and governance, providing crucial guidance to site reliability engineers and overseeing the program's effectiveness at the enterprise level. Your contributions will be instrumental in optimizing our operations and delivering value to the business as a whole, while maintaining a firm position within our global business framework.

What You’ll Do:

  • Establish and administer a global reliability program for all manufacturing sites.

  • Provide direction and support to site reliability engineers, ensuring program adherence.

  • Implement continuous improvement strategies for equipment and system reliability.

  • Manage reliability budgets and allocate resources to meet program objectives.

  • Develop business case for improvements requiring investments and participate in capital planning for reliability related project opportunities. 

  • Engage with external vendors and industry experts for insights into new technologies.

  • Collaborate on data management for tracking and trending with CMMS BPO and System Admin.

  • Employ a data-centric approach to reliability using analytics and predictive tools.

  • Use KPIs to monitor program performance and drive progress.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance, adherence to standards, and alignment with company policies.

  • Enhance Maintenance SOPs, Parts Lists, BOMs, and CMMS data integrity.

  • Analyze work orders and Quality Event Metrics to pinpoint improvement opportunities.

  • Lead RCFA and FMEA processes for informed decision-making.

  • Integrate reliability considerations into new projects and participate in capital planning.

Who You Are: You are a seasoned expert with a solid background in reliability engineering and a knack for leading programs that bolster operational efficacy. You are a strategic thinker, equipped to serve as a reliability SME, and thrive on data-driven analysis to enhance system dependability and performance. #LI-CC1

Required Skills:

  • BS in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial) or related facilities engineering discipline 

  • Minimum of overall experience of 6+ years in Facilities Engineering in Biotech, Pharma, or similar manufacturing industry, with at least 4 years of Reliability Engineering experience.

  • Effective at influencing at both site and enterprise levels.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and technical leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in reliability analytics and methods.

  • Familiarity with CMMS, engineering, and maintenance business practices.

  • Expertise in core engineering principles.

Preferred Skills:

  • RCM and/or TPM knowledge.

  • Process improvement and reliability engineering principles (PDCA, LEAN, Six Sigma/DMAIC, FMEA).

  • MS or certification in Reliability Engineering
