Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location
Location: Hybrid - 3 days/wk on-site in one of the following hubs: Pittsfield, MA / Springfield, MA / Worcester, MA / Willimantic, CT / Albany, NY
Purpose/Objective :
The Operations Security & Compliance Administrator is responsible for a full range of activities and initiatives which ensures the security, compliance, and operational requirements of the business unit. This position will provide assistance with the development and implementation of Compliance and Security Programs as it relates to Retail Banking Operations, functioning as an independent and objective body that reviews and evaluates compliance and security issues/concerns within the operational area. The position ensures that management and employees of the department comply with the rules and regulations of regulatory and state agencies and that company policies and procedures are followed.
Key Accountabilities :
Performs and reviews various internal compliance/security activities for the Retail Operations Divisions to ensure appropriate planning, accounting, custodial, or control activities comply with management instructions and Bank procedures. Manages monitoring schedules including review of monitoring results, tracking of remediation and collaboration with department management. Works directly with department management to correct any violations, complaints, findings or deficiencies found. 20%
Ensures Retail Operations disclosures, policies and procedures comply with applicable laws and regulations. Serves as primary, independent resource for Retail Operations, providing support and guidance to operational, security and compliance efforts. Exercises independent judgment to identify and address operational issues/deficiencies/complaints within the business line, including escalation and resolution of self-identified issues. 20%
Assists with the development/updating of risk assessments, disclosures, security protocols and control reviews. Ensures appropriate completion of Operations self-monitoring requirements. Participates in and reviews internal, outsourced and regulatory audits to ensure documentation is submitted and deadlines are met; works with LOBs to track findings through completion. 30%
Assesses operational needs and makes recommendations to enhance the compliance/security training curriculum for the Retail Operations departments. Collaborates with other Compliance/Security associates across the company and serves on various Bank committees/projects at the request of management. Acts as Operations liaison with divisional business leaders to further operations, security and compliance related items or projects. 30%
Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by ones duties.
Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
Compliance and or/regulatory training; certification a plus
Experience:
5-7+ years Bank Operations experience
1+ year of supervisory experience
Previous security/compliance and/or audit experience
Skills & Knowledge:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task
Ability to be objective about controls and processes
Good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills to effectively resolve complex issues. When presented with an issue, qualified candidates must be able to compile all relevant facts and data needed for effective resolution
