ROLE SUMMARY

The Global KOL Services Sr. Associate will partner with key stakeholders on our Global Medicine Teams (GMT's) and Study Teams, with a focus on one or more categories/therapeutic areas to help plan and manage tactical activities related to KOL and external expert interactions. The colleague serves as a key interface with cross-functional team members to manage all aspects of the Health Care Provider (HCP) engagement/contracting process utilizing the ENGAGE system. In conjunction with the objectives of the Global KOL Services group, the position will help to provide subject matter expertise to ensure KOL related deliverables are met or exceeded and in compliance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Global KOL Services Sr. Associate serves as a key interface with cross-functional team members to manage specific aspects of the Health Care Provider (HCP) engagement/contracting process utilizing the ENGAGE system. The Global KOL Services Specialist will utilize subject matter expertise to reduce operational burden, improve efficiency and proactively respond to challenges related to the planning and execution of Global KOL initiatives while maintaining our high standard of compliance. These activities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide project management HCP contracting support for program and study level engagements related to clinical development activities, including Data Monitoring Committees (DMCs), Steering Committees, Adjudication Committees, and Speaker Seminar engagements.

  • Serve as subject matter expert to instruct and provide Project Owners with guidance throughout the HCP engagement process.

  • Ensure that HCP engagements are conducted and completed in a compliant manner based upon current processes and policies. Assist in keeping project leads/study teams in compliance for all HCP engagements.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders regarding HCP rate exceptions and approvals.

  • Contribute to risk management through the identification of risks according to SOP's, Sunshine Act, Foreign Corrupt Policy Act (FCPA) and European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFFPIA) guidelines. Initiates issue resolution and develop new options to resolve moderately complex issues.

  • Audit Readiness- Liaison between Asset team Project Owners, GCO NA Planning team, and internal audit for preparation for HCP Engagement annual external audits.

  • Identify and escalate engagement and process improvement opportunities/needs.

  • Continue to identify areas of improvement and best practices to increase internal and external stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Key liaison between legal, compliance and external stakeholders on contracting revisions.

  • Partner with Country FMV leads to complete FCPA/MAPP and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements in WRD Engage system.

KOL OneView System

  • Provides maintenance of the KOL OneView system.

  • Generate requested reports from stakeholders to support team initiatives.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accountable for the design and maintenance of Global KOL Services SharePoint Site.

  • Attend appropriate training programs and project teleconferences as applicable.

  • Actively participate in Global KOL Services team activities.

  • Support other PPM initiatives as requested.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree (BA/BS) and 3+ years of relevant project and process management skills in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.

  • Experience and knowledge of Pfizer's HCP Engagement practices and systems (ENGAGE) is strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with a variety of KOL activities and interactions in the scientific/medical and commercial plans for development and branded products.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems, processes and technology required.

  • Ability to function with a high degree of independence and is a self-starter.

  • Ability to anticipate issues/needs and work proactively to address them; demonstrated initiative and ability to effectively function in times of ambiguity.

  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to drive results across the project lifecycle, from planning to completion.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize/multi-task effectively.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

  • Proactively works to develop solutions and to overcome issues or challenges.

  • Ability to understand the integration of KOLs in the scientific/medical and commercial plans for development and branded products.

  • While an in-depth scientific background is not essential, a demonstrated awareness of the pharmaceutical market, understanding the requirements for successful development of pharmaceutical assets and understanding the landscape of industry-external expert relationships is required. The incumbent will be expected to grasp scientific concepts at a basic level.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Superior computer skills and proficiency in commonly utilized programs/applications such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
