Purpose/Objective:
The AVP, Enterprise Release Manager will ensure the execution of Agile methodologies and release management across the organization, guiding development teams through the software development lifecycle.
As the team lead responsible for the DevOps support, the AVP Enterprise Release Manager will play a highly visible customer facing role with key stakeholders to mature the Banks unified release process. In addition to providing oversight of environments, development and usage of the JIRA Management system, and adherence to Change Management policies and procedures, the Enterprise Release Manager will lead the DevOps ingestion, triaging, and prioritization of new requests to ensure alignment to the Banks goals and objectives. The Release Manager is responsible for validating that product roadmaps conform to the banks published release schedule and aligns to Design Document created by the Architecture team. The Release Manager also provides standard reports and feedback that demonstrates predictable prioritization and delivery that meet release deadlines. In addition, this role will act as the primary end-user liaison, managing release communications, surveys and the Digital Office Release site. The AVP, Enterprise Release Manager will work directly with team members and participate in QA and UAT, ensuring quality standards are met and reported on.
Key Accountabilities:
Agile PRACTICES: The AVP Enterprise Release Manager leads and coordinates all release activities, including all Agile ceremonies (e.g. daily stand-up, backlog refinement, retrospectives). Work with appropriate DevOps team members to organize discovery, review and validate design, conduct demos, and provide train-the-trainer materials to LOB stakeholders. Ensure thorough build documentation and procedures and be responsible for the creation of Train the Trainer resources to ensure adoption of the solution. Coordinate with team members to ensure that QA and UAT meet deadlines and that all quality standards are monitored, met, and reported on. Guide and create test cases within the Automated Testing Platform. Ensure that the CI/CD tool is being appropriately used and all environmental standards are adhered to. Work closely with all members of the DevOps team to communicate Release Cycles, documentation, and support materials. Manage release-related communication meetings to prepare end-users for upcoming changes. Coordinate and manage materials on the internal DevOps site related to all platforms the team supports. Work with internal communication team members to ensure timely and efficient communication throughout the organization. Manage the technology super-user group to ensure engagement with internal stakeholders. Act as the first line of contact for the DevOps team. End to end management and development of the Jira platform, including setting up workflows, automations, ensuring integrations with external systems such as Git and ServiceNow and supporting end-user requests. 60%
SOLUTION DESIGN: Support multiple lines of business requests by working alongside DevOps Subject Matter Experts to complete solution designs and establish prioritization according to established guidelines. Lead the team in the evaluation, design, scope, and completion of new development requests. Update and manage Confluence documentation. 15%
BUSINESS ANALYSIS: Participate in brainstorming sessions with key stakeholders to align them to the Agile process and set release expectations. Work with DevOps team members to organize monthly Focus Groups for technology super-user groups focusing on understanding first-hand end-user experiences with a focus on a Total Experience Design (CX,UX, EX, MX). 15%
SOLUTION ADOPTION: Work with various stakeholders through the release cycle of DevOps initiatives to determine appropriate training for the deployment of new tools and features. Work with internal stakeholders to create training schedules, establish KPIs for successful deployment, and assist in facilitating train-the-trainer programming. Coordinate the creation of training materials and job aids and create follow-up training as needed. Work with team members to update and manage Digital Adoption Tool to help guide users in effectively using systems. Participate and regularly schedule open office hours. 10%
Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by ones duties.
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing or related field
Salesforce Certified Admin
Jira Certifications
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred
Experience:
2-3 years managing Agile processes
1-3 years experience with Digital Adoption Platforms such as WalkMe
Minimum of 3 years Experience with Salesforce eco-system products (FSC, Marketing Cloud, Digital Engagement, Knowledge, etc.) or similar CRM technology
Minimum of 3 years supporting and utilizing complex Jira Projects, Plans, Discovery and Confluence
2+ years experience with training development
Banking / financial services experience a plus
Skills & Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of business processes across the organization
Strong knowledge of Salesforce products
Strong knowledge of Jira Management tools, including implementation, complex deployments and automations
Understanding of CI/CD and automated testing tools (AutoRabit, Testim, Tricentus, etc.)
Skills in managing Agile ceremonies and methods, with a concentration in Scrum.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately drive consensus within a diverse team.
Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with peers and management to drive improvements in release processes, and transparency with key stakeholders.
Proven ability to gain buy-in from end-users and translate into product evangelism.
