Job Description

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Business Communications and Operations Advisor to join our Diversified Business Group. In this exciting role, you will provide advanced department, divisional and/or segment focused business and operational support to include strategic planning, workforce development, team engagement, leadership communication, internal/external marketing and special projects.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Communications & Operations

  • Create communication deliverables in partnership with key internal subject matter experts to promote executive thought leadership and further the work of divisional initiatives.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify, research, write, edit, and assist in distributing informative, compelling content for a range of audiences across different channels.

  • Develop internal facing content and events focused on building employee engagement and awareness of Blue Cross NC's Diversified Business Group.

  • Review and edit business proposal documentation, talking points, presentations, and other communication materials for divisional leadership.

  • Facilitate change management work to support business and process improvements and overall departmental/divisional effectiveness.

Project Management

  • Use project management skills such as vendor management, project plan documentation, task planning, resource allocation, project communication, and status reporting related to executive leadership initiatives, senior leadership presentations, and business readiness projects

  • Create and maintain editorial calendars for key communications that reflect audience-specific content, industry-relevant content research, and business milestones

  • Plan, manage, and execute divisional events to make them engaging, purposeful and outcomes based, including agenda setting and content compilation

  • Track projects and independently create progress reports/presentations for varied audiences, including levels of leadership and cross-functional teams.

Business Partnerships

  • Improve and strengthen business partnerships and stakeholder relationships for the department/division through focus on proactive communications, relationship building, and process improvements.

  • Facilitate the completion of the Annual Report, CEO/Board reports, and other marketing/communication opportunities with a focus on partnering to deliver communications that are relevant and oriented to specific business partnerships both internal and external.

  • Provide input and recommended strategy for leadership’s public speaking engagements and industry events.

What You’ll Give

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 5+ years of experience in related field.

  • In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience with internal social media/messaging platforms such as Teams and Viva Engage

  • Presentation/public speaking experience, or a desire to grow this capacity and skillset

  • Understanding and deep interest in of healthcare delivery, insurance, and investment trends

  • Presentation development and speech writing experience

  • Working knowledge of design platforms such as Canva and InDesign

Salary Range

$69,000.00 - $124,200.00
