BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina Events Planner in Remote, North Carolina

Job Description

The Events Planner oversees and develops small to mid-level events and meeting management for Blue Cross NC. This job aligns the meetings and events experience with corporate strategy, planning techniques and methodologies, budget targets, and business objective and goals through effective and efficient event creation and design, strategic partnership, and industry experience. Coordinates details of each event including planning and post-event follow-up and evaluations. Develops and executes event goals and strategy. Develops, implements, and evaluates policies, procedures, and processes for event and meeting planning and execution by utilizing best practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the planning and execution of events in support of Blue Cross NC business initiatives and goals. Collaborate with internal and external partners on goals, objectives, and event elements. Design and execute meetings and events within scope and budget, including preparing the budget and forecasts. Research available venues and recommend event sites.

  • Coordinate meetings and events with a project management approach, focusing on timelines and deliverables

  • Oversee meeting management, communication related to meetings/events, drive budget development, tracking, and reconciliation of all meeting expenses. Create and recommend cost saving alternatives as appropriate.

  • Collaborate, negotiate, and coordinate services with external business partners and vendors to ensure Blue Cross NC’s corporate requirements and expectations are met. Assess client needs and expectations and recommend production elements and budget expenditures.

  • Analyze and evaluate the impact of meetings, meeting spaces, and events using standardized measurement practices and tools prioritizing effectiveness.

  • Anticipate, develop, and implement contingency plans for meetings and events. Assess event risk and implement appropriate risk management procedures.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 3+ years of experience in related field

  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field

Bonus Points

  • Working knowledge of Asana, ideal

  • Strong organizational and time management skills; experience managing multiple events or projects at one time

  • Prior experience with budget management

  • Demonstrated ability to work with and support a team on large-scale projects and events including summits, conferences, etc.

Salary Range

$55,800.00 - $89,300.00
