What you'll do... :

This role will be responsible for leading and managing operational activities of Lending Products and Debt Management for H&R Block’s Financial Services Group (FSG). The Operations Manager will develop and manage strategies and solutions to facilitate the success of our lending products, its operational efficiency, and profitability. Responsible for driving innovation and providing sound leadership to maintain the safety and soundness of credit origination, servicing and debt management activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sets the strategic goals for the Lending Operations team. Effectively communicates and provides feedback and guidance to the loan operations team as it relates to the progress and results related to these goals. Creates and maintains all Loan Operations written procedures, checklists, and job aids.

  • Leads the evaluation, testing and/or modifying of current or new products & procedures, according to user requirements that conform to regulatory guidelines.

  • Manages third party relationships.

  • Continually assesses service levels and ensures systems are being used in the most effective way for our members and internal staff.

  • Provide support, assistance, and backup processing for all loan servicing functions: Origination, payments, payoffs, line advances, disbursement of loan funds, file maintenance requests, recording and satisfaction of loan documents, retention strategy, QA, etc.

  • Implements process and systems changes accordingly.

  • Monitors productivity, accuracy, and overall performance of the group.

  • Partners cross-functionally with other departments including but not limited to Customer Service Groups, Legal & Compliance, Technology, Product, Fraud, etc..

  • Partners with compliance and Audit to provide loan files and documentation as requested, internal and independent third-party audits of consumer, MBL and portfolio loans.

  • Documents and communicates operational risk exposures and internal control weaknesses as well as analyzes monthly reports for leadership.

  • Track key loan data of loan portfolio data and ensure the input of all data to the system is accurate and complete. .

  • Applies extensive knowledge of loan products in maintaining the loan core processing systems specifications to maximize operational automation and efficiency.

It would be even better if you also had... :

  • Prefer 1-3 years’ experience in new product development / launch.

  • Possess strong analytical skills.

  • Possess strong communication skills.

  • Ability to be resourceful and remain flexible.

  • Technical background and on-going maintenance of loan core system as well as a functional understanding of a loan origination system (LOS).

What you'll bring to the team... :

  • Minimum 6 - 8 years of experience in leading operational activities of consumer loans, lines of credit, credit cards, etc. for FinTechs / Banks / Financial Service companies.

  • Minimum of 3 –5 years of experience leading process development, process automation, program management, etc.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of consumer lending, lending policies, procedures, collections strategies, regulations, etc.

  • Knowledge and experience in collections and debt management activities

  • Working knowledge of lending systems, collections systems, debt management systems, etc.

  • Travel required sometimes.
