State of Minnesota Special Teacher - School Psychologist in Red Wing, Minnesota

Job Summary Job Summary The Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) has an opening for a School Psychologist at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Red Wing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Following the established DOC Reintegration Protocol, facilitate the development and implementation of each youth’s education reintegration plan to help ensure his successful transition to a community-based educational or career technical setting after release from incarceration. * Screen and evaluate referred youth including selecting appropriate instruments, administering assessments, completing observations, and writing reports which state the evaluation findings and provide for educational program recommendations. * Provide student support services through a variety of methods including intake planning, crisis intervention, academic and behavioral intervention support, classroom presentations, co-teaching, and in-service training. * Participate in the identification and coordinate the effective implementation of best practice educational interventions. * Assist in facilitating the school's multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) process to facilitate improved student performance. This position is located at a Minnesota Correctional Facility and will have direct contact with individuals who are incarcerated. Compensation for the successful candidate will be commensurate with the level of education attained and number of years of prior teaching experience approved at the time of hire. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position: * Possession of a current Minnesota School Psychologist License. * Effective communication and human relations skills sufficient to develop professional relationships with students, education and institutional staff, and other professionals in the community. * The ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, students’ families, and the community. Preferred Qualifications: The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position: * Extensive knowledge of specialized education functions such as a MTSS framework; positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and academic interventions; social emotional learning and student engagement. * Extensive knowledge of community-based transition support services. * Experience coordinating special education evaluations. * Experience coordinating student support services. Physical Requirements: The selected finalist is required to review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for this position and may be required to complete a tuberculosis screening prior to hire.
